A Day Apart on the Seventeenth [2024]
A coming-of-age character study following Laksmi, an Indonesian immigrant in an unfamiliar new world. She prepares for a celebration of Indonesian Independence Day, using the event as a means to cope with her nostalgia and longing for her homeland. As she embarks on her preparations, she experiences 'visitations' by side characters, friends, and family members from her past. These manifestations later reveal her struggles and doubts about living in a state of in-between, grappling with assimilation and adaptation.
